My interest in crochet began at a young age. While waiting to be picked up from an after-school program, I witnessed a woman creating a scarf out of red yarn and a hook. It wasn’t like any other craft I’d seen before. Shortly after, I found an old needlework book that featured different crochet techniques. I taught myself to crochet a single row, put the hobby down for many years and eventually picked it back up around 2011. Since then, I have created hundreds of crochet items ranging from clothing, to plants, and more.
If there is one thing I look forward to each day, it's getting a few rows of a project done. Most of my work is inspired by the materials themselves, alongside a desire to make unique and/or wearable pieces. Time, care and patience go into each item. When traveling, my favorite stops are local yarn shops.
While currently living in the Midwest and teaching middle school full-time, crochet is my favorite creative outlet and reminder to relax.
